Pre-press Preparation and Computer-to-Plate

Pre-press Preparation and Computer-to-Plate

The preparation of the printing plates takes place on Agfa's pre-printing system: ApogeeX. This pre-press workflow covers a wide range of processes directly in the printing house but also between the client and the print preparation department – including automated data reception and categorisation, checking, proofing, sheet imposition, online approval of final files by the client and preparation of data for plate exposure, which then takes place on the CtP Agfa AVALON exposure unit.

Pre-press Preparation and Computer-to-Plate

For data approval, we offer clients the Web Approval module – a Portal that allows customers to approve ripped data online, reject pages, and replace faulty pages.

Completely unique is the possibility of using the hybrid Sublima screen, which combines the advantages of FM and AM screening. Frequency modulated (stochastic) screen – Cristal screen III. generation The advantage of this screen is excellent reproduction of fine details in the image without the risk of moiré. The configuration of the printing machines allows very flexible and wide use with regard to printed materials, printing inks (conventional, UV), finishing and protective varnishes, formats and colour setups. The most suitable technology is always chosen for each specific job in terms of quality and printing economics.

Our production department has an MGI JETVARNISH machine for applying a wide range of effect elements. The resulting product creates a very interesting optical and haptic effect that catches the reader's attention at first glance or touch. The machine can perform partial or full-surface 2D varnishing, relief 3D varnishing, apply effect foils or special fill structures. Production is possible from 1 piece, meaning the machine can also be used for producing mockups and samples to simulate the final effect.

At TNM we are equipped not only for complete production of hardcover and softcover book bindings, but also commercial production – flyers, maps, folders etc. The bookbinding department has modern machines from Müller Martini, Kolbus, Wohlenberg and Horizon and of course a team of experienced operators. Saddle-stitched binding is produced on the Heidelberg ST 100 machine. Paperback books and book blocks are produced on the Wohlenberg City perfect binder with hotmelt and PUR gluing units. The heart of the bindery is the DIAMANT MC hardcover line from Müller Martini. Print finishing (mainly covers and boards) – varnishing, lamination and stamping are done in-house, which is important for production flexibility and speed.
