St. Vitus Cathedral – The Stone Crown of the Kingdom has won an international award!
Among the exceptional projects produced at the TNM Print printing house is the prestigious photographic publication “St. Vitus Cathedral—The Stone Crown of the Kingdom” by Petr Uličný and Jan William Drnek. This lavishly illustrated book presents one of the most significant symbols of Czech history through unique photographs, detailed views of the cathedral’s architecture, and scholarly texts dedicated to its historical and spiritual significance. The publication has 336 pages and was created as an exceptionally demanding printing project with an emphasis on image quality and high-end production.
The book’s significance is further underscored by the fact that its author received the prestigious “Best Publisher” award in April 2026, presented by the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP). This award is considered one of the most important European accolades in the field of photographic publications.
How was the book produced at TNM Print?
During the production of this publication, the utmost emphasis was placed on faithful reproduction of the photographs, printing precision, and overall bookbinding quality. The book was printed on a Komori Lithrone GL540 press using Epple Extreme PSO inks. In collaboration with photographer Mr. Drnek, a print profile was created for the job, which helped ensure the best possible reproduction of the photographs used. Every stage of production—from prepress preparation through printing to the final bookbinding operations—was carefully monitored to ensure that the finished book matched the exceptional quality of its content.
The extensive visual material required exceptional attention to detail in reproduction, color accuracy, and the rendering of highlights and shadows. The result is a publication that allows readers to discover the cathedral’s architectural and artistic details in a quality that cannot normally be perceived with the naked eye.
The book was produced with an emphasis on durability, a sophisticated appearance, and ease of reading. It combines state-of-the-art printing, high-quality materials, and precise bookbinding into a single harmonious whole that underscores the exceptional nature of both the photographs and the subject matter itself.
