Sustainability is key to us

In all our activities, we evaluate impact on the environment and strive for the most sustainable processes and materials throughout. When it comes to paper, we automatically default to sourcing our most loved material from sustainably managed forests, unless our customer has a special request. Our inks Epple Extreme PSO are environmentally friendly and are made of up to 80% renewable raw materials. For the production of our books, we also use electricity from our own photovoltaic power plant located on the roofs of our production halls and actively reduce our carbon footprint.

We use machines with the lowest carbon footprint possible

For the production of our books and other printed materials, we work closely with suppliers of machinery, who prioritise reduction of their carbon impact. For example, the Japanese company Komori, from which we sourced our printing machines Lithrone G40P and GL 540 HC, has reduced its carbon footprint by 30% in the last 10 years and plans to be CO2 neutral by 2050. Müller Martini, our supplier of the Diamant M35 and VENTURA MC suspension machine, is part of the Blue Competence initiative. Its aim is to promote sustainable solutions in the industry. The initiative leads to new energy concepts, efficient use of scarce resources and improved quality of life.

Sustainability of our input materials is paramount

In production, we work with certified paper and we encourage production of books that are printed on paper made of wood from sustainably managed forests with a traceable origin of wood used for its creation.

Forest Stewardship Council® is an international non-profit organization that was founded in 1993. The key idea of FSC is to promote environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management around the world, thereby helping to protect the disappearing, endangered and devastated world forests.

The ink in our printers – Epple Extreme PSO, is mineral oil-free, duct fresh and formulated based on renewable raw materials. Epple Extreme PSO been evaluated according to the Cradle to Cradle™ product standard and awarded the PLATIN level.

TNM Print has own source of renewable energy

In 2020, a photovoltaic power plant was installed on some of our roofs, which helps us partially power the production of books and other printed materials with our own green electricity and thus contribute to the protection of the environment.
Heat naturally generated by our machines during the production is used further for heating of some of our premises.
